Someone gave me a thickness planer some time ago, and I have yet to use it. What things do others do with their thickness planers? It's a nice piece of equipment, and I really would like to put it to use.
I have a friend who works in the hardwood flooring business. He saves his leftover pieces of hardwood for another guy who cuts the pieces the same width. The guy glues the pieces together with wood glue to form a uniform sheet. He then saws off the ends and runs the entire resulting "board" through his thickness planer to form wonderful countertop cutting boards. He adds a sealant and sells these to people who love the finished product.
