We have paneling in 1 room and I hate it. I want to rip it down and put up drywall. I don't have the time right now to do this. Does anyone know of anything you can do to paneling to make it look better? I don't think you can paint it right? It wouldn't look good.

Actually, I think you can paint panel if you sand it down real good. There may be special paint for this, but I'm not sure. I would try it and see how it turns out. You may be surprised.

There is a special preparation you can use to prep paneling for paint. If you have that old pine paneling or other old wood, you might check into preserving it. You can always put up drywall on top of the paneling. You'll preserve more of the value of your house. Not everyone hates good wood paneling.
