Default bathroom exhaust fan

I'm installing an exhaust fan for my bathroom. I have run the ductwork through the side of my house. Can anyone tell me what sealer should i use around the vent housing to protect it from the elements?

I like to use an exterior silicone caulking. For exterior applications use the caulking with the highest year rating. Some caulkings have ratings of 10yrs/15yrs/20yrs.

I did use a silicon sealer on the outside, placing a good line in and around my vent housing. I also added window/door foam from the inside to insulate the hole. Thanks for the advice.

Butyl caulk or acrylic latex caulk works best.
