Default Installing surround sound

I have bought some surround sound speakers for my living room and would appreciate any advice on how to set it up.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can cover up the wires to the speakers so they dont show?

What is the best direction for the rear speakers to point, both facing foward toward the TV, or both facing each other and the pointed toward the couch?

Hi there! Maybe I can help you with your setup. I have a few questions first.

Do you have a 5.1? 6.1? 7.1? speaker system?
How big is your living room?

My brother and I just setup a 5.1 surround sound system in our living room. We hid some of the wires under the carpet.

I know a little about this. I think surround sound is better when you point the rear speakers toward the seating area from side positions. Basically facing each other. I don't know much about mounting for this, I just have mine free to move on the floor.

If you have a grand to spend, go buy that bose surround sound that is basically one speaker and you can forget the mess.
